The truth about MOLDThere are many myths about mold, like: it is no big deal, I can just wipe it off and it is gone, every house has mold so there is nothing that can be done. These are all wrong! Mold is a big deal and wiping it off the surface may not actually take it away. Not every house has it but every house can get it.

• Use dehumidifiers and air conditioners, especially in hot, humid climates, to reduce moisture in the air.

Mold Cleanup in Nashville

This relatively new construction in a Nashville suburb essentially had its own ecosystem beneath the house. This was caused by a crawlspace that was improperly ventilated. This image shows what the damage looked like prior to remediation. Check out our section of before and after photos to see how it looked at SERVPRO of Hermitage/Donelson was finished. This crawlspace required a drying treatment, followed by an extensive remediation. After that, we replaced the vapor barrier and fully encapsulated the crawlspace. This prevents outside moisture, or ground moisture, from building up and creating a problem like the one in this image.
